About Strong at Heart CIC

Strong at Heart CIC is a community-focused organisation created to support children and families affected by Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).

Our mission is to help families build confidence, resilience, and connection through safe, supportive movement. We understand that living with CHD can feel isolating, overwhelming, and frightening—for both children and parents. Strong at Heart CIC exists to remind every family that they are not alone.

We provide inclusive, fun, and carefully adapted movement sessions designed to:

• Build physical confidence in a safe, supportive environment

• Support emotional wellbeing

• Reduce fear around movement and activity

• Encourage connection between families with shared experiences

Everything we do is shaped by empathy, understanding, and lived experience. We work closely with families to ensure all activities are appropriate, empowering, and joyful—never pressured or competitive.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), all income is reinvested back into the community to:

• Offer affordable and funded programmes

• Support families facing financial or emotional hardship

• Create safe spaces for children to move, play, and grow

Our Partnership with Evolve Fitness

We deliver our programmes in partnership with Evolve Fitness, whose values align closely with our own. This partnership allows us to provide a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where children and families can access movement, education, and wellbeing support in a way that feels safe and achievable.

Through Evolve Fitness, we are able to offer free and subsidised exercise sessions, community wellbeing events, and healthy eating workshops.

​

Evolve Fitness currently operates as a women-only gym, helping many people feel more confident taking part in physical activity. Looking ahead, there are plans to introduce male-only and mixed sessions from 2026, ensuring our work continues to grow in accessibility and inclusion.

Together, Strong at Heart CIC and Evolve Fitness are committed to supporting families on their journey to better health—through compassionate delivery, accessible fitness, and community-led support.
